Entertaining Read … Recommended ….
”Children’s books I receive for review, I take
to school to read to my resident critics … my fourth
grade students.”
“Books targeting the middle grades are
listened to with utmost dedication. Books are read aloud,
chapter by chapter as a treat and as a reward. As we came
to the end of a chapter, cries of ‘more’ rang
out often.”
“Knight Lights Vol. 1 - Magnabumble's
Big Bumble is a stout, well-made paperback edition and proved
a very good addition to our class library shelf. Proof that
the book has met its goal to appeal to this reading age may
be judged by the fact that Knight Lights Vol. 1 - Magnabumble's
Big Bumble does not remain on the shelf during our ‘free
reading’ time. Students who are reading and enjoying
it with many chuckles, and ‘listen to this,’ and
rolling on the floor giggles tells me they like the book.”
”Knight Lights Vol. 1 - Magnabumble's
Big Bumble is a good choice for the school and classroom library,
children’s personal reading,
and the home school reading curriculum. Knight Lights Vol.
1 - Magnabumble's Big Bumble is a read-to for the younger
set ages
3 – 7, and is a read alone for the 8 – 11 group.”

“The story reads VERY quickly. The sentences
and chapters are short, which will appeal to struggling and/or
reluctant readers. The author adds in some words that will
stretch this audience’s vocabulary. The illustrations
give visual depth to the wordplay/humor.”
“If you’re trying to engage boys
in reading, though, this is the kind of story they’ll
come back to a lot. Definitely worth the $6.00 investment."

"A Knight Light is a miniature knight
in shining armor who patrols by the light of a sword or shield
from dark till dawn." The Knights, Magnabumble, Ironheart,
Lionpenny, and Stilton, live inside young Oliver's cluttered
closet while they protect his room from evil. When Magnabumble
spots an intruder in Oliver's room, one thing after another
goes wrong, until the tooth fairy ends up retiring to an island
in the South Pacific! Kids will enjoy the cartoon format and
the brave, and sometimes bumbling, acts of the knights. (Ages
7-10)

Written and illustrated by Ed Baker, the Knight
Lights series are chapter books for young people that blend
text and whimsically scribbled black-and-white illustration
on each page, making them as easy-to-read as comic books.
The Knight Lights themselves are miniature knights in shining
armor who patrol by the Light of a sword or shield from dark
to dawn, watching over and protecting all who sleep. Knight
Lights Volume 1: Magnabumble's Big Bumble follows the courageous,
well-intentioned, yet unfortunately mistake-prone Magnabumble
as he gets caught in another jam; his friends Ironheart, Lionpenny,
and Stilton must band together to save the night. In Knight
Lights Volume 2: The Biggest Bounciest Battle Ever things
are going bounce in the night, and the Knights work together
to find out why! Both are highly enjoyable blends of fantasy,
humor, and pure silliness, recommended especially for young
readers ages 7-10.
